Senior Software Developer

BLOM Bank Egypt, May 2001 - November 2007

* Originally Misr Romanian Bank, the name was changed after the acquisition by BLOM Bank of Lebanon

Location: Bucharest, Romania and Cairo, Egypt

Main Projects:

  • Developing the software needed for introducing Master Card services in the bank; creating a set of applications for exchanging MasterCard transactions data with MasterCard and interfacing with the core banking system automating the whole process.
  • Developing an application for interfacing Forex transactions (using the bank ATM machines) with the core banking system.
  • Developing an application for automating the salary domiciliation service offered by the bank.
  • Creating and maintaining the website of the bank, (for Misr Romanian Bank before the bank was renamed) along with the software necessary for automatically updating the information on the website.
  • Creating an intranet website for the bank.
  • Creating an HR system for the bank's branches in Romania.
  • Participating in the development of an HR system developed for the bank's branches in Egypt, including the creation of a web application interface for the system.
  • Creating an application for managing and monitoring the fixed assets of the bank.
  • Implementing TradeWind, a trade finance system, which involved creating the software necessary for migrating the data and creating an application for monitoring the SWIFT messages generated by the system and automatically transferring them to the SWIFT server.
  • Implementing Temenos Globus, a globally well-known banking solution, in the bank's branches in Romania, (project duration: 18 months), doing most of the coding largely reducing the cost of the implementation.
